The uterus is suspended in the pelvis by a complex system of peritoneal folds and fascial condensations. The broad ligament provides lateral support, while the cardinal and uterosacral ligaments (condensations of the endopelvic fascia) anchor the cervix. The round ligament maintains anteversion.
